San Antonio Museums and Zoos

The Alamo

The Alamo is the most famous Mission in Texas because of its history of many soldiers including Davy Crocket being defeated there. The people of Texas have since used the phrase “remember the Alamo” as rememberance to the sad event.
The Alamo has both guided and self guided tours for families and school groups. It should be noted that the grounds of the Alamo are free to enter.

San Antonio Museum of Art

The San Antonio Museum of Art is a large art museum with artists from around the world represented. The museum also has contemporary art.
There are year-round programs for teachers and students and school field trips are offered throught the calendar year.

San Antonio Zoo

There is a lot going on if your school wants a field trip at the San Antonio Zoo. One interesting option is that the zoo allows overnight field trips. The zoo offers an array of global animals for all visitors as well as educators and docents at the zoo that help aide understanding of animal life. Other fun things to do at the zoo (some with an addtional charge) include special breakfasts with animals, giraffe feeding, and more seasonal events.

While Six Flags Parks are know for their roller coaster and more adventurous thrill rides, they are also have a defined area for younger children as well as shows throughout the day. One of the bonuses of Six Flags Fiesta Texas is that their seasonal water park is included with the regular admission. Six Flags Fiesta Texas also has field trips for school groups.
